Internship for students in vocational training in equestrian sports or husbandry

De Rotterdamsche Manège/Society based in theRotterdamsche Manège “The Jockey Club”is a friendly association and a special riding school for youth, students and seniors. In addition, it offers boarding facilities for both recreational and competitive riders and a unique place in the beautiful Kralingse Bos in the heart of Rotterdam.

We are continuously looking for people for our riding schoolenthusiastic and motivated internswho are following vocational training in the fieldHorse farming and/or equestrian sports.

Do you want to gain a lot of practical experience during your training, learn to work with different horses and riders and really be part of a professional stable team? Then an internship at the Rotterdamsche Manège might be something for you!

As an intern you will work with us as:full member of the stable team. You actively participate in the daily activities and also have the opportunity to develop further in various parts of horse farming and equestrian sports.

** What are you going to do? **

1. Mucking out and spreading stables;
2. Feeding and caring for the horses;
3. Turning horses indoors and outdoors;
4. Caring for and preparing horses for training and lessons;
5. Participate in the daily activities within the stable and on the grounds;
6. Participate in the work surrounding the riding school and boarding horses;
7. Where appropriate within your level of education: take part in lessons;
8. Assisting with group and/or private lessons;
9. Where possible and appropriate within your training: receive guidance in giving horse riding lessons;
10. Participate in other practical components that match your training and personal learning goals;
11. Together with your colleagues, ensure a safe, neat and pleasant environment for riders and horses.

**Guidance & training**

We think it is important that an internship not only consists of participating, but that you actually get the opportunity toto learn and develop yourself.

As an intern you get:Group riding lesson once a week, taking into account your level and development.

The content of the internship will of course betailored to the training requirements, core tasks, learning objectives and assessment criteria of your school. We will work with you to determine what is appropriate within your training and within our capabilities.

**When?**

The regular internship days are:Monday to Friday, immediatelystarting time from 7:30 am.

If desired, depending on the wishes of the intern and the regulations of the course, it is also possible to complete internship hours in theevenings and/or weekends. We are happy to look together at a suitable interpretation of your internship and the requirements from school.

1. You are following a vocational training courseHorse farming and/or equestrian sports;
2. You are enthusiastic and motivated to learn in practice;
3. You have an affinity with horses and equestrian sports;
4. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves;
5. You work carefully and responsibly;
6. You are reliable and keep agreements made;
7. You can work independently as well as in a team;
8. You enjoy learning different activities within horse farming and equestrian sports;
9. You are open to guidance and feedback;
10. You want to develop further during your internship and actively contribute to the team.
